Join us as we open LitOct 2026 with a celebration of new voices and new writing. The Southlands Creative Writing Awards return for 2026, shining a light on imagination, talent and storytelling.
Our winning writers will take the stage as we launch this year’s festival, a relaxed, welcoming afternoon where you can hear their work, meet fellow readers and writers, and be part of the very first moments of LitOct 2026.
We’re delighted to welcome Barbara Fisher, long‑standing Uxbridge Gazette journalist and writer of the weekly Bm@il column for over 15 years and keen supporter of Southlands. As our special guest, Barbara will award the prizes for this year’s Creative Writing Competition.
